About Devon Curtis
A graduate with honors from the Texas Tech University school of music, Mr. Curtis has spent his life dedicated to the pursuit of self-excellence through music. He continually hones his skills as both performer and educator with the aim of taking every available avenue to pass this knowledge onto the next generation.
Equipped with an expanding variety of experiences, ranging from being an active director in both public and charter school programs, to directing and performing music for nationally-recognized theater festivals, Mr. Curtis is confident in his ability to relate with any student or audience on a meaningful level. He has been recognized for his efforts with commendations such as the Texas Music Education Association (TMEA) Student-Teaching Scholarship and the TMEA Music Scholars Award. He has also been acknowledged with various leadership positions during his tenure at Texas Tech and within Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a widely-recognized national music fraternity.
Though originally from San Antonio, Mr. Curtis currently teaches and performs in College Station, Texas; as well as holding the position of Head Orchestra Director at Oakwood Intermediate School. When not involved in his music, Mr. Curtis often spends his free time strength training, working as a personal trainer, cooking, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
